Love is comfort, and peace. It is calm when we need it most. Love is a hand holding yours; a constant in any uncertainty the world can throw at us. Love is courage, and adventure. It is racing toward the horizon without fear, knowing you’ll never be left alone to face it. Love is unconditional compassion, unending dedication, and the solace of knowing no challenge will be undertaken in solitude.
Marriage is the commitment to providing that comfort, that courage, and that compassion, to the one your heart and soul has recognized as its counterpart. It’s the recognition that each and every moment is made better, each obstacle more easily cleared, with the one you’ve chosen by your side. Marriage is taking that hand, and being that constant, the rock your partner needs, at every moment they need it.
